The proper installation of vibration dampers is essential to ensuring maximum protection against the damage caused by vibration. Here are some techniques that you should consider when installing the spiral dampers on the ADSS and OPGW cables.


1. Placement – Spiral vibration dampers should be spaced between the support points with a spacing of 30m to 40m to attain optimal effectiveness. They should always be installed at the cable ends, at the mid-span, and at the sag points, depending on the cable's length.


2. Positioning – Ensure the positioning of the damper is optimally in line with the cable to lessen the effects of irregular wind flows.


3. Tightening – Place the dampers onto the cable and adjust them so they remain around the cable during installation. Tighten the bolts until they're secure but ensure that the damper remains movable on the cable.


4. Quantity – The number of dampers to install on the cable depends on the cable diameter and thickness. Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions to determine the optimal number of dampers for your specific cable.
